Mark ‘Stan’ Maynard is responsible for the management and development of Elandsfontein, including the achievement of specified growth and profitability objectives. Stan has 22 years’ experience in the safe establishment and management of mine infrastructure and diverse teams. He has a BSc Mechanical Engineering Degree from the University of the Witwatersrand and has completed management and executive development programmes through the University of South Africa and the Gordon Institute of Business Science. He also holds an Engineers Government Certificate of Competency for Mines.

Patrick Stevenaert has on-the-ground responsibility for Kropz’s Hinda Project. He has held senior management positions in Africa for the past 24 years in mining exploration, project management and railway operations. He is an electrical and mechanical engineer with a specialisation in aerospace, and is also experienced in business administration. He has managed projects in logistics (rail, road, port, inland terminal), in has experience in key contracts negotiation such as mining investment agreements, port occupancy agreements and gas purchase agreements. Cogniscent of the importance of the social licence to operate, he has dealt with communities and governments, participating in environmental and social impact assessment preparation and expropriation processes, adhering to international best practice. Patrick has worked in the Republic of Congo for 13 years. He is a director of Kropz subsidiary Cominco SA.

Cicil Pfister heads up engineering at Elandsfontein and is responsible for ensuring all equipment is reliable and safe. He joined the team in 2017, prior to which he worked at Anglo American Platinum (Ltd), Lonmin plc and Harmony Gold. Cicil holds a Certificate of Competency in Electrical Engineering for Mines and Works, from the Department of Minerals and Resources South Africa.

Aubrey Julies manages the corporate social investment and developments to ensure community commitment, while achieving the company’s sustainability (health, safety, environment) objectives for Kropz Elandsfontein. He has 25 years’ experience in operating and corporate environments, and has worked in the energy, metallurgical, chemical, and mining industries. Previously, Aubrey was Senior Manager Group Environment, Safety Systems and Sustainability Report at Lonmin Plc and also worked for Eskom, Sasol and Glencore. He has a BSc (Chemistry and Microbiology) Degree from North West University and completed the Management Advancement Programme at Wits Business School.
