Louis Loubser

Chief Executive Officer (appointed January 2023)

Louis Loubser is a B Comm graduate with an MBA cum laude, both from Stellenbosch University. He also holds a certificate in international quarry management from the University of Derby in the UK. From 2018 to 2022 Louis was chief executive at the Mooiplaats Colliery, where, as CEO he is credited with turning Mooiplaats Colliery into a profitable operation. Effectively output was doubled, combined with substantial cost-reductions at every level of the business. He has also led the team that turned ARM Andalusite into profitability within less than 12 months. A noteworthy achievement given the mine’s history. Previously Louis led the due diligence and acquisition of Glen Douglas Mine, SA Block and Clinker and Infrasors Holdings for Afrimat Limited, where he was head of business development, prior to being appointed Managing Director of Infrasors, a position he held from 2013 to 2018. Louis thrives on strategic planning, strong leadership, driving change and improvement in high-energy working environments.

Linda Beal

Linda Beal is a Chartered Accountant and was a partner at PwC for more than 16 years. She provided tax advice to natural resources clients on many transactions such as IPOs, mergers and group restructurings. She was partner at Grant Thornton for two years to June 2016 where she led the global energy and natural resources group. Linda is currently non-executive director at Orca Energy Group Inc. She is co-founder and director of a professional services business network and a business and tax advisor. Ms Beal chairs the Audit, Risk and Sustainability Committee and sits on the Remuneration and Nomination Committee.

Michael Daigle [photo]

Michael Daigle

Michael (Mike) Daigle is a Chemical Engineer by background and has 40 years’ experience in the phosphate and fertiliser industry. He worked at Mosaic Phosphates Co from 2004 until 2016 where he held positions of VP Operations and Senior Director in charge of the Mosaic joint venture in Saudi Arabia. He was also responsible for business development, the division R&D group and production planning for phosphates. Mike also worked for IMC Phosphates Co, Cargill Fertilizer Inc and Occidental Chemical Co during his career. He is now a consultant to the phosphate industry where he provides expertise in phosphate mining, production, business development and mergers and acquisitions.

Gerrit Duminy [photo]

Gerrit Duminy

Non-Executive Director

Gerrit is a qualified Chartered Accountant (SA) with over six years of experience in corporate finance and deals. He is currently employed as a deal executive at African Rainbow Capital. As a part of his responsibilities, he serves as a director on several of the ARC Fund’s portfolio company boards where he actively tries to unlock growth and synergistic value. As a deal manager, Gerrit has oversight responsibility for the valuations of the R20bn investment portfolio. He also is responsible for the identification, analysis and execution of new investment opportunities. As one of seven deals executives at ARC, Gerrit has portfolio and investment management responsibilities for a portion of the investment portfolio. Gerrit has completed all 3 CFA examinations and is eligible for registration to become a charter holder.
